Accounting Manager

**Role Description**
The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Monona, WI. This role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including managing the general ledger, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and ensuring accurate journal entries. The Accounting Manager will monitor fixed assets, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and support financial analysis for leadership decision-making. Responsibilities include reconciling accounts, maintaining internal controls, coordinating with external partners such as auditors, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies. The role also involves streamlining accounting processes, mentoring team members, and providing timely financial reporting to support the funeral home’s mission of delivering high-quality service.

**Qualifications**

* Candidates should possess strong skills in Financial Statements and Finance to manage reporting, budgeting, and overall financial health.
* Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support decision-making.
* Candidates should possess skills in Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger management to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
* Candidates should possess skills related to Fixed Assets, including tracking, depreciation, and reconciliation.
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (CPA or CMA) is a plus.
* Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in service-oriented or family-owned businesses.
* Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is beneficial.
* Strong attention to detail, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality, with effective communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work on-site, collaborate across departments, and manage multiple priorities in a compassionate, client-focused environment.
