Assistant Foreman - Cemetery

**Summary** ----------- Leads and assists in the work of a small crew in maintaining facilities and landscaped areas of the cemetery. **Essential Functions** ----------------------- * Lead and assist in the work of a small crew maintaining cemetery grounds; * Assist Cemetery Foreman in planning work to be done, maintain time and work records; * Lead and participate in locating, marking, and preparing gravesites for funeral, providing amenities, and closing gravesite; * Lead and participate in maintenance of cemetery grounds, and maintenance and repair of irrigation system; * Assist in inspecting cemetery grounds for necessary maintenance or repairs; * Assist in employee selection, evaluation, and disciplinary actions; * Supervise work crew in the absence of the Cemetery Foreman; * Perform related duties as directed. **Qualifications** ------------------ Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional one to three years of experience in the maintenance of a cemetery; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following: *Physical Exam Required**Valid Current Commercial Driver's License* **Knowledge and Abilities** --------------------------- ***Knowledge of:*** * Landscape and ground maintenance practices; * Use of construction equipment for landscape maintenance and excavation. ***Ability to:**** Operate various pieces of grounds maintenance or construction equipment; * Maintain accurate records; * Understand maps and blueprints; * Communicate effectively with others; * Lead the work of others. ***Physical Requirements:*** * Frequently stand and walk during the shift. * Occasionally bend and kneel during the shift. * Frequently lift up to 100 pounds. * Occasionally carry up to 100 pounds. * Frequently push and pull objects. * Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees. * Frequently rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing. * Place arms above, at, or below shoulder height. * Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
