Assistant Foreman (Cemetery Grounds)

The historic Mt. Olivet Cemetery is seeking a candidate for its Assistant Foreman position. The candidate is a seasoned cemetery grounds worker with 1\-3 years of supervisory experience, knowledge of cemetery grounds maintenance (excavation, backfill, landscaping), and ability to operate heavy motor equipment (i.e., backhoe, loader, truck). The Assistant Foreman is tasked with assisting the Foreman in maintaining the cemetery grounds in addition to assist in preparing for interments and entombments; assist in performing disinterments and disentombments; install and repair cemetery memorials, fulfill work orders, assist families with grave locations; ocassionally perform Foreman duties in the Foreman's absence and perform other work\-related requests. The Assistant Foreman is a self\-starter who can motivate and guide a team, set goals and objectives, communicate effectively, lead by example, and is capable of working independently with little supervision. The candidate for this position must be able to lift 80lbs, operate heavy motor equipment when needed, perform general repair and maintenance duties, operate hand tools and small machines, perform repeated tasks of bending, kneeling, climbing, stooping, digging and extensive walking.
