Bereavement Coordinator/Counselor

**Job Summary** We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bereavement Coordinator/Counselor to provide vital emotional support and counseling services to individuals and families experiencing loss. In this role, you will facilitate grief counseling sessions, develop personalized care plans, and collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive support. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives during their most challenging moments. **Duties** * Conduct intake assessments to evaluate clients’ emotional needs and develop tailored grief support plans * Follow up with bereaved individuals following the passing of their loved ones on hospice services. * Provide individual, family, and group counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and grief counseling techniques * Implement crisis intervention strategies to assist clients in acute distress or during sudden loss situations * Utilize motivational interviewing skills to motivate clients towards positive coping mechanisms and resilience building * Manage medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations, including detailed notes on patient care, and medical terminology. * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, and special education specialists to coordinate case management and ensure holistic support * Facilitate telehealth sessions using secure platforms to reach clients remotely across diverse settings * Conduct diagnostic evaluations for mental health conditions related to grief, trauma, or complex PTSD (Post\-Traumatic Stress Disorder) * Develop and implement behavior management strategies for clients with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges related to grief or trauma **Experience** * Proven experience in mental health counseling, clinical social work, or psychotherapy with a focus on grief, trauma, or crisis management * Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder * Familiarity with ICD\-9/ICD\-10 coding systems for accurate medical record documentation and billing processes * Strong background in crisis intervention techniques and behavior management strategies in high\-stress environments * Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to behavioral health and mental health counseling practices * Skills in utilizing telehealth platforms for remote client engagement while maintaining HIPAA compliance Join us if you are passionate about guiding individuals through their journey of healing after loss.
