Bereavement Counselor

**Join Our Compassionate Hospice Care Team** Are you a dedicated and empathetic professional with a passion for supporting individuals and families through grief? Hospice of Orange \& Sullivan Counties, Inc. is seeking a part\-time **Bereavement Counselor** to join our Social Work \& Bereavement team. This is a **part\-time** position scheduled for **12 hours per week**, **Mondays and Thursdays, 10:00 am \- 4:00 pm**. ### ### ***About the Role*** The **Bereavement Counselor** plays a vital role in delivering our hospice philosophy of comfort, dignity, and compassionate care. This position provides high\-quality emotional and clinical support to individuals, families, and groups navigating loss through grief counseling. The Bereavement Counselor will work collaboratively with the Social Work \& Bereavement team under the direction of the Lead Bereavement Counselor and the Director of Social Work \& Bereavement Services. ***Education and Experience:*** * Master's Degree in Social Work (LMSW), Mental Health Counseling or a related field. * Experience working in a clinical grief counseling setting counseling individuals, families and groups going through loss. ***What are we looking for?*** * Refined clinical counseling skills. * Knowledge and understanding of the grief response. * Computer literacy and proficiency with electronic communication systems such as Microsoft Teams \& Zoom. * Proficiency in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel, Word \& PowerPoint. * Excellent presentation skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication, and organization skills. * Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy. * Ability to work with autonomy, as well as a team member. ***Join Us in Making a Difference*** ------------------------------------ If you are passionate about providing support, healing, and hope to those experiencing loss, we would love to hear from you.
