Bereavement Counselor

**Job Requirements**
Responsible for direct pastoral care for patients and families at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Acts as a support person for patients, caregivers, families and staff. Serves as part of an interdisciplinary team and serves as a liaison to patients and families that receive Palliative Care services at Restorative Care. Other responsibilities will be assigned as appropriate.


**Minimum Requirements**
**Education**

* Master's Degree from an accredited seminary

**Experience**

* Minimum of four units clinical pastoral education
* Minimum of 2 years ministerial experience

**License/Registration/Certifications**

* Valid driver's license

**Preferred Requirements**
**Preferred License/Registration/Certifications**

* Board Certification or eligible for Board Certification through the Association of Professional Chaplains

* Must be able to withstand long hours of standing, walking, sitting, stooping, and bending
* Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination, acceptable vision, and hearing needed in daily work
* Effective communication skills with command of the English language written and verbal
* Sit and view computer monitor for extended periods of time
* Requires extensive daily travel
* Must have extensive critical thinking and judgment skills
* Must be able to work as a team member with peers, department managers, staff and administration
* Strong organizational skills
