JOB SUMMARY:
The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for increasing access to hospice and palliative care in HCP’s six\-county service area by working directly with the health care provides to increase referrals. The Business Development Coordinator achieves this goal by providing education and resources to health care providers in the six counties we serve. The coordinator works closely with the Community Outreach and Admissions teams to share information to facilitate care and services for referrers, and to improve customer service relationships with those who refer

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in experience required
· Minimum of two year of demonstrated experience in sales, healthcare marketing, customer service, or community outreach
· Experience in the healthcare and/or hospice industry preferred
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Experience with public speaking and/or community education
· Highly professional appearance and demeanor
· Must be a strong team member across multiple teams
· Computer literacy is required, especially familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Current Kentucky Driver’s License and unlimited access to a reliable automobile with appropriate insurance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move a minimum of forty pounds using proper body mechanics and safety measures. Individual job responsibilities may require lifting more than 40 pounds on occasion. Employees are regularly required to see, talk and hear; frequently required to sit, stand or walk and use hands; to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Skills:
1\. Increase access to hospice and palliative care by working directly with the health care providers to increase referrals.
2\. Creates, organizes, and implements programming to reach caregivers and seniors in the community and to engage with health care providers and community at large in issues related to hospice, palliative, and bereavement care.
3\. Records and reports on contact activities, including number of individuals reached, and follows\-up with organizations and individuals with whom we partner to provide services.
4\. Provide education to health care providers in six counties we serve and surrounding counties as needed on hospice care, palliative care, caregiver issues, and aging issues; provides education and support to healthcare referral sources;
5\. Able to learn about the needs of family caregivers and seniors and communicate how HCP, its programs, and the hospice Medicare/Medicaid benefit can help meet their needs.
6\. Shares and communicates information with the HCP Admissions Team in a manner that will enhance and streamline the admission of pending referrals from families.
7\. Coordinates with the Referral Specialist to document all contacts and phone calls made during the referral process.
8\. Coordinates with the Admissions Team to follow up on referrals that have previously declined hospice services or were not admitted to any HCP programs.
9\. Communicates the needs and concerns of family caregivers and potential patients to HCP to enhance our responsiveness to family\-initiated referrals.
10\. Recommends promotional items and print materials that will enhance outreach efforts to the community and coordinates the inventory of print and promotional materials.
11\. Develop Customer service program that ensures continued quality of care delivery for patients once admitted.
12\. Collaborate with the Director of Public Relations and Development Team on needed items to promote increased referrals in the six counties we serve.
Pay: $84,156\.80 per year
