Cemetery Counselor

Counselor: Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD

This position reports directly to the Cemetery Manager(s). Candidate will perform a variety of cemetery administrative tasks and activities, as assigned. On a limited basis, direct the secretary and field personnel as necessary in the performance of assigned tasks. In the absence of the manager, may be authorized to manage the cemetery on the manager's behalf. Full\-time, non\-exempt position. Work hours are Monday\- Saturday, 8:00am\-4:30pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Presenting and selling cemetery goods and services on cemetery grounds.
* Directing daily funeral activities.
* Performing office administrative and field operation functions as assigned by the cemetery manager.
* Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:
A successful candidate for this position must possess a compassionate manner and a commitment to assisting the families we serve. Must be able to maintain strong attention to detail, manage multiple tasks at once and high levels of organization. The candidate must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills, in addition to:

* Cemetery experience preferred but not necessary.
* High School or G.E.D. diploma, as well as driver's license required.
* Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs. unassisted, and work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. extreme summer heat and winter cold, and other extremes of weather related to outdoor elements).
* Proficiency in operating basic office machinery.
* Knowledge of and support for the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
