Cemetery Groundskeeper

**Job Summary** Join our team as a Cemetery Groundskeeper and play a vital role in maintaining the dignity and beauty of our memorial grounds. This energetic position involves caring for landscaped areas, ensuring the grounds are pristine, safe, and welcoming for visitors. You will be responsible for performing landscape maintenance, operating various tools and equipment to include a back hoe and riding mower, and supporting overall grounds upkeep to create a peaceful environment that honors those laid to rest. Your dedication will help uphold the high standards of our cemetery and provide comfort to families and visitors alike. **Responsibilities** * Use back hoe to dig graves and place markers / head stones. * Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and maintaining flower beds to keep the grounds vibrant and well\-kept. * Operate power tools, hand tools, irrigation systems, and other equipment safely and efficiently to support groundskeeping activities. * Maintain pathways, sidewalks, and other outdoor areas by cleaning debris, repairing minor damages, and ensuring accessibility. * Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair, including turf health and irrigation system performance. * Support gardening efforts by planting new greenery, watering plants, fertilizing soil, and applying horticultural best practices. * Assist with general maintenance tasks such as fence repairs, equipment upkeep, and ensuring safety protocols are followed throughout the site. * Collaborate with team members to coordinate landscaping projects and ensure timely completion of groundskeeping duties. **Qualifications** * Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is valued. * Knowledge of horticulture principles, lawn care techniques, and landscape maintenance practices. * Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and other landscaping equipment safely. * Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions with the ability to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor as needed. * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and appearance on the grounds. * Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting cemetery operations and visitor experience.
