**Job Overview** We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Cemetery Groundskeeper to maintain and enhance the beauty and serenity of our cemetery grounds. This vital role involves caring for landscaped areas, and performing routine maintenance to create a respectful and welcoming environment for visitors and families. The Groundskeeper will play a key part in preserving the dignity and tranquility of the cemetery while demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality work. **Responsibilities** * Maintain landscaped areas through mowing, trimming, planting, pruning, and edging to uphold a pristine appearance. * Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as digging, planting, aerating, and general grounds maintenance. * Conduct routine inspections of grounds for hazards or damage, promptly addressing any issues to ensure safety. * Perform general maintenance tasks including cleaning pathways, repairing fences or benches, and ensuring proper drainage. * Assist with gardening activities such as planting new flora, mulching beds, and fertilizing to promote healthy growth. * Support landscaping projects that enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the cemetery grounds while respecting the site’s solemn atmosphere. **Experience** * Prior experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is preferred. * Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and hoes confidently and safely. * Experience using power tools like trimmers, blowers, or small machinery is advantageous. * Knowledge of safety procedures related to groundskeeping activities to prevent accidents during work. * Strong attention to detail with a respectful attitude towards maintaining a peaceful environment for visitors.
