Cemetery Groundskeeper

**Job Summary** Join our team as a Cemetery Groundskeeper and play a vital role in maintaining the dignity, beauty, and serenity of our cemetery grounds. This energetic position involves caring for landscaped areas, ensuring all grounds are pristine, safe, and welcoming for visitors. You will be responsible for performing landscape maintenance, gardening, and general upkeep using a variety of tools and techniques to uphold the highest standards of presentation and safety. Your dedication will help create a peaceful environment that honors loved ones and provides comfort to families and visitors. **Responsibilities** * Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, edging, and planting to keep grounds attractive and well\-kept * Operate power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, hedge cutters, and other landscaping equipment safely and efficiently * Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns and gardens * Use hand tools for planting, pruning, weeding, and other gardening activities to promote healthy growth * Conduct routine inspections of grounds to identify areas needing repair or additional care * Assist with cemetery maintenance including gravestone cleaning, pathway upkeep, and debris removal * Support seasonal landscaping projects and special groundskeeping initiatives to enhance the cemetery’s appearance * Assist with funeral services as needed **Qualifications** * Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates * Knowledge of horticulture principles and landscape maintenance techniques * Ability to operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively * Familiarity with irrigation systems and basic lawn care practices * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety standards * Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions * Excellent teamwork skills with a respectful attitude towards visitors and colleagues * Self motivated individual with a strong work ethic Join us in creating a respectful, beautiful environment that honors memories while providing comfort to those who visit.
