Cemetery Groundskeeper

**Location(s)**: This position is for Heritage Memorial Park in Dewey and Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott. Applicant must possess a valid driver's license capable of passing an insurance check.

**Compensation:** Compensation to be discussed at time of employment.

**Duties**

* Maintain the cemetery grounds through landscaping, lawn care, gardening, and planting to uphold aesthetic standards.
* Operate ground maintenance equipment such as mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, and power tools safely and efficiently.
* Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns, plants, and flower beds, including troubleshooting irrigation issues.
* Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting of soil, mulch, or equipment to support landscaping projects.
* Conduct regular inspections of grounds and equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
* Apply pesticides and herbicides following safety protocols to control pests and weeds while protecting the environment.
* Use company vehicles for transportation across the cemetery property and operate ground maintenance machinery responsibly.

**Experience**

* Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or athletic field maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Familiarity with irrigation systems, power tools, hand tools, and equipment maintenance is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of pesticide management and safety procedures related to chemical application is a plus.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining attention to detail.
* Strong understanding of grounds maintenance best practices specific to cemetery or golf course environments is advantageous.
* Commitment to safety standards including power tool safety protocols and proper use of gardening equipment.
