In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the cemetery grounds are pristine, safe, and welcoming by performing landscaping, weed control, and equipment operation. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will contribute to a serene environment that honors those laid to rest. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to work outdoors, utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to uphold our high standards of grounds care.

**Responsibilities**

* Operate ground maintenance equipment including power trimmers (weed eaters), chainsaws, and filling dirt in graves to maintain the cemetery landscape.
* Perform landscaping tasks such as trimming and general lawn care to keep the grounds tidy and well\-kept.
* Manage weed control using manual tools and pesticide management techniques while adhering to safety protocols.
* Use hand tools and power tools safely for landscape maintenance, equipment repairs, and land clearing activities.
* Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving soil, mulch, or other landscaping materials while following manual handling safety procedures.
* Operate company vehicles responsibly for transporting equipment or materials around the cemetery property.
* Maintain detailed records of grounds maintenance activities, equipment usage, and safety checks to ensure compliance with regulations.

**Qualifications**

* Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or athletic field maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Ability to operate power tools such as chainsaws, trimmers, mowers, and other landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
* Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
* Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles or grounds maintenance equipment preferred.
* Commitment to safety standards related to power tool use, equipment maintenance, and pesticide handling.
* Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude who takes pride in maintaining beautiful outdoor spaces.
