This is a hands\-on supervisory role responsible for leading the maintenance crew, ensuring the cemetery grounds remain beautiful, respectful, and professionally maintained. If you take pride in your work, have strong equipment operation skills, and want a stable, meaningful role with leadership responsibilities, we encourage you to apply. **Key Responsibilities** * Lead and supervise the cemetery maintenance crew in the absence of the Park Superintendent * Operate a backhoe for burial preparation and grave services * Install headstones and monuments according to proper procedures and cemetery standards * Prepare and set up burials and entombments, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready * Maintain cemetery grounds using zero\-turn mowers, weed eaters, blowers, and other equipment * Complete park maintenance requests and ensure high standards for overall appearance * Safely operate tractors and trailers for equipment and material transport * Enforce safety protocols and maintain a secure, professional work environment at all times **Requirements** * Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or cemetery work **required** * Proficient operation of backhoe, zero\-turn mowers, tractors with trailers, weed eaters, and blowers * Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a small crew * Ability to lift 75\+ lbs and perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions * High attention to detail, especially with burials and headstone installations * Self\-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team * Excellent reliability, organizational skills, and communication abilities * Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Compensation \& Benefits * Competitive hourly pay **up to $22/hour**, based on experience and qualifications * Health, Dental, and Vision insurance plans available * Matching 401k retirement plan * Stable, year\-round position with meaningful work This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a **leadership role** in a respectful, professional environment where your work directly contributes to honoring the memory of those laid to rest. **Qualified candidates must reply to this ad with a resume to be considered.** We look forward to hearing from dedicated, hardworking professionals ready to take pride in maintaining one of Lufkin’s respected cemeteries.
