**COUNSELOR (Cemetery Service Planning): Gate of Heaven Cemetery** **Silver Spring, MD (Aspen Hill)** **Position Summary:** The Cemetery Counselor will perform a variety of cemetery administrative tasks and activities, including meeting with families to assist with burial arrangements, directing daily funeral activities, presenting and selling cemetery goods and services, and assisting families with memorialization. Full\-time position with a competitive benefits package. Work hours are Monday\-Friday, 8:00am\-4:30pm and rotating Saturdays. **Responsibilities** * Assist families in planning cemetery services with compassion and professionalism. * Ensure compliance with safety protocols while performing maintenance activities. * Communicate effectively with team members and clients, utilizing Microsoft Office and DocuSign for documentation. * Drive to various locations as needed, ensuring timely service delivery. **Qualifications:** A successful candidate for this position must possess a compassionate manner and a commitment to assisting the families we serve. Must be able to maintain strong attention to detail, manage multiple tasks at once and high levels of organization. The candidate must possess outstanding oral and written communication skills, in addition to: * Cemetery experience preferred but not necessary. * High School or G.E.D. diploma, college degree preferred. * Current clean driver's license required. * Ability to lift/carry 40 lbs. unassisted, and work in adverse weather conditions (i.e. extreme summer heat and winter cold, and other extremes of weather related to outdoor elements). * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operating basic office machinery. * Experience with DocuSign a plus. * Knowledge of and support for the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church. **Apply:** Qualified applicants are requested to submit a cover letter and resume to the attention of the Cemetery Manager.
