Death Certificate Clerk

We are a family-owned funeral home seeking a dependable, detail-oriented **Part-Time Death Certificate Clerk** to join our team.

**Schedule:** Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–3:00 PM
**Position:** Part-Time, In-Person

Position Responsibilities

* Prepare and process death certificates and disposition permits
* Enter and maintain accurate information in EDRS
* Communicate with physicians, hospitals, hospice agencies, medical offices, and county offices regarding death certificate completion
* Review death certificates for accuracy and completeness
* Follow up on pending physician attestations and corrections
* Maintain organized and confidential case records
* Work closely with funeral arrangers to ensure certificates and permits are completed in a timely manner
* Assist with general administrative duties related to case files and vital records

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

**Applicants MUST meet at least one of the following requirements:**

* Previous **funeral home, mortuary, death certificate, or vital records experience**, OR
* Strong working knowledge of **medical terminology**

This is **not an entry-level general office position.** Familiarity with medical terminology, physician offices, medical records, or funeral service documentation is necessary for this role.

We are a small, family-owned funeral home and are looking for someone who is reliable, organized, professional, and comfortable becoming an important part of our day-to-day operations.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
