Director of Funeral Home Operations -Camino del Sol

**POSITION SUMMARY:**

Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel is seeking an experienced operations leader to take ownership of the funeral home’s daily performance, team development, and quality of service. The Director of Funeral Home Operations will set clear expectations, make timely decisions, and ensure our staff has the direction and support needed to serve families exceptionally well.

**Duties and responsibilities**

* **Lead the operation.** Direct all aspects of daily funeral home operations, including case assignments, staffing, scheduling, facility readiness, transportation, and coordination of visitations and services.
* **Build an accountable team.** Hire, train, coach, and evaluate employees. Set performance standards, address concerns promptly, and develop team members for greater responsibility.
* **Own the family experience.** Establish service standards, review family feedback, personally address escalated concerns, and ensure commitments to families are carried out accurately and compassionately.
* **Manage capacity and execution.** Anticipate service volume and staffing needs, adjust resources when priorities change, and ensure cases move forward without avoidable delays.
* **Drive operational performance.** Monitor labor, expenses, service quality, and other key measures. Identify problems, implement solutions, and report results to company leadership.
* **Maintain compliance and sound practices.** Ensure accurate documentation, appropriate handling of remains, safe working conditions, and adherence to applicable laws, licensing requirements, and company policies.
* **Lead through difficult situations.** Respond decisively to urgent operational issues, employee matters, and service disruptions while keeping families informed and the team focused.
* **Strengthen the business.** Partner with company leadership on process improvements, community relationships, and opportunities for responsible growth.

**Qualifications**

* Significant experience in funeral service operations, including direct leadership of employees.
* Demonstrated ability to manage performance, make difficult decisions, and hold a team accountable while maintaining a respectful workplace.
* Strong knowledge of funeral home workflows, family service expectations, and operational controls.
* Excellent judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
* Arizona funeral director licensure preferred. Duties requiring a license must be performed by an appropriately licensed individual.
* Ability to respond to time-sensitive operational needs outside regular business hours when necessary.

Pay: From $100,000.00 per year
