At this time the only permissible formats for resumes are .PDF, .DOC, and .DOCX. **Weekly Hours:**40 hours/week **Title:** Division Manager \- Parks \& Cemetery Maintenance **Location:**Town Hall **Bargaining Unit:**Non\-Union **Hiring Range:** $87,572\.28 \- $112,000\.00 (DOQ) **Department \& Supervisor:**Director of Public Works **Summary** The Town of Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Division Manager of our Parks \& Cemetery Maintenance Division. Reporting to the Director of Public Works, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and management of the Town's parks, cemeteries, public grounds, open spaces, and athletic fields. This role requires a candidate who can balance technical expertise in horticulture and turf management with strong organizational skills to meet deadlines and coordinate ongoing capital improvement projects. You will oversee a dedicated team of staff and contractors to ensure the Town’s public spaces remain safe, attractive, and well\-maintained for all residents. **What You'll Do** * Develop seasonal and annual maintenance schedules for mowing, irrigation, landscaping, and athletic field preparation. * Supervise burials, excavation contracts, and the coordination of services with funeral homes and families. * Directly manage, mentor, and evaluate division personnel, ensuring a culture of safety and professional development. * Identify infrastructure needs—such as drainage and irrigation—and coordinate with the Engineering Division on major park projects. * Develop and monitor operational budgets while overseeing the procurement of materials and equipment. * Collaborate with the Recreation Director and serve as the liaison to the Shrewsbury Trails Committee. **What We're Looking For** * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in horticulture, turf management, public administration, or a related field is preferred. * A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in parks or municipal maintenance operations. * Proven ability to supervise staff, manage contractors, and handle public inquiries or complaints with professional interpersonal skills. * Valid Massachusetts Driver's License required. Preference will be given to candidates with a CDL B, Hoisting License 2A, MA Pesticide License, or Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) credentials. **How to Apply** For more detailed information on the position, please review the full job description.
