Carolina Funeral Services is currently seeking a professional, compassionate and dedicated individual for a position as a Transport Specialist to assist in the removal and transport of deceased individuals. We are **NOT** a funeral home and do **NOT** drive a hearse. We work closely with funeral homes and government agencies (local, state and interstate) to facilitate the removal and transport of deceased individuals from healthcare facilities, residence and crime scenes. **Current or retired LEO, EMS, FIRE, RESCUE or MILITARY VETERANS are strongly encouraged to apply.** We offer our clients the highest quality service in our industry so the requirements below are extremely important to our company. These requirements will be strictly followed so please read each very carefully before applying. **JOB DESCRIPTION:** * Applicants must live within 25 minutes of the Charleston International Airport due to the response time required by our clients. Anyone living outside of this area will not be considered for employment. * Must exhibit exceptional professionalism, be empathetic, compassionate and have excellent communication skills. You will be interacting with healthcare staff and family members during a difficult time. * Valid SC drivers license with clean driving record. * Ability to pass drug test and background check * Good physical condition (must be able to lift as much as 250 lbs or more) * Clean, neat professional appearance at all times (facial hair neatly trimmed, hair must always be neatly trimmed, hair must be off the ears and not touching the shirt collar for men) * Strict dress code is required ( Suit, tie, dress shirt, socks and dress shoes) * Minimum age of 25 per company policy to drive a company vehicle **THIS POSITION WILL BE EASY IF YOU ARE and MORE DIFFICULT IF YOU ARE NOT:** * Detailed oriented * Able to multi\-task * Able to work independently and with a team member * In good shape. This is a physical job. You will push, pull, lift and carry. **THIS IS A PERFECT POSITION IF YOU:** * Like to drive * Like to help bring closure to families who are grieving **SCHEDULE:** * This is not a 9\-5 position * You will be on\-call during a 48 hour and 72 hour shift * You will work 3\-4 days per week * You will work an average of 16 days per month * You will work holidays based on your on\-call schedule. Meaning if you are scheduled to work a designated holiday, you have to work.
