Family Service Advisor - Resurrection Cemetery - Toledo, OH

The Diocese of Toledo Cemeteries Corporation is seeking a Family Service Advisor to serve families with compassion and professionalism as they make important cemetery arrangements. This full-time, non-exempt position combines ministry, family service and consultative sales, guiding families through at-need arrangements, advanced planning and memorialization while supporting the mission of Catholic cemeteries in Toledo.

Primary responsibilities include:

* Meets with families to understand their needs and guides them in making informed decisions regarding at-need cemetery arrangements, advanced planning, cemetery property and related products and services.
* Educates families on the Order of Christian Funerals and provides compassionate, respectful service consistent with the Catholic ministry of the cemeteries.
* Develops advanced-planning opportunities through family follow-up, referrals, parish outreach and community events, including contacting leads, scheduling appointments and conducting presentations.
* Guides families through memorialization options and the design process, coordinating documentation, proofs, ordering and installation with cemetery staff and vendors.
* Coordinates service information with families, funeral homes and cemetery staff and ensures contracts, payments, records and system entries are complete, accurate and timely.
* Meets established expectations for lead generation, appointment setting, follow-up and advanced-planning sales while demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all family interactions.

Candidates for the position must possess:

* Two to four years of experience in a sales environment involving face-to-face customer contact; cemetery, funeral service or related experience is preferred.
* Knowledge of or willingness to develop a strong understanding of the Catholic faith, rituals and traditions, including the Order of Christian Funerals.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills with the ability to compassionately assist grieving families and build trusted relationships.
* Demonstrated ability to develop leads, cultivate referrals, set appointments and achieve sales goals while maintaining a family-centered approach.
* Strong organization, attention to detail and time-management skills, along with proficiency using computers, CRM systems and other technology.
* A valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and proof of insurance. Some evening and weekend availability is required.

Compensation and benefits:

* The position offers base pay equivalent to $50,000 annually, plus the opportunity to earn monthly commissions and incentive compensation based on qualifying sales and established performance thresholds. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Top Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
* Two to four years of experience in a sales or service environment involving face-to-face customer contact preferred. Cemetery or funeral service experience is a plus.
* Knowledge of the Catholic faith, rituals and traditions, and an understanding of the Order of Christian Funerals, or the ability and willingness to learn and apply them.
* Knowledge of consultative sales practices, including networking, lead development, referrals, appointment setting, follow-up and achievement of sales goals.
