**Family Service Counselor** Laurel Grove Cemetery – 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ 07512 – Passaic County **Job Overview:** Laurel Grove Cemetery is seeing a compassionate, professional, and motivated Family Service Counselor to assist families with cemetery property, memorialization, and burial planning. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, professionalism, and the ability to guide families through important pre\-planning and end\-of\-life decisions with dignity and care. The ideal candidate must be dependable, organized, customer\-service oriented, and comfortable working with families during sensitive and emotional times. **Responsibilities:** · Meet with families to discuss cemetery property, interment options, memorialization, and pre\-need arrangements. · Assist families with at\-need cemetery arrangements and related services. · Explain cemetery policies, procedures, pricing, and available options clearly and professionally. · Maintain accurate records, contracts, and payment information. · Follow up with client inquiries and maintain ongoing customer relationships. · Coordinate with cemetery staff to ensure services are completed accurately and respectfully. · Participate in community outreach, family follow\-up, and sales initiatives as needed. · Maintain professionalism and compassion in all interactions. **Qualifications:** · Previous sales, customer service, funeral service, cemetery or memorial planning experience is preferred. · High School Diploma or GED is required. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Ability to work with families in sensitive situations. · Professional appearance and demeanor. · Organizational and computer skills required. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred. · Candidates must be able to meet all New Jersey state licensing requirements including fingerprinting and background processing as a condition of employment. · Ability to commute or relocate to Totowa, New Jersey, Passaic County Area **Compensation and Benefits** $50,000 \- $100,000 per year Strong bonus incentives Bi\-weekly commissions earned are paid every two weeks Unlimited earning potential 401(k) and percentage matching Health, life, dental and vision insurance, and flexible spending accounts available Vacation and Sick Time **Schedule** Full\-Time Position \- 8 Hour shifts most days Weekend availability may be required Flexibility for occasional evening appointments and family meetings Participation in community events, memorial programs and outreach activities as needed Pay: $50,000\.00 \- $100,000\.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Work Location: In person
