First Call Driver / Funeral Assistant

We’re looking for one or two reliable people to join our team at a family\-run mortuary in Fortuna as a first call driver/funeral assistant.

This is primarily an \*\*ON\-CALL\*\* position, so availability and dependability are extremely important. When a call comes in, we need someone who can answer their phone, respond promptly, and be ready to go; including evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed.

This is a rewarding job, but can occasionally be physically demanding. We use appropriate equipment and assistance, but you do need to be physically capable and willing to do the work.

No funeral home experience is required. We’re primarily looking for someone who is:

\- Reliable and responsive
\- Comfortable driving and able to safely assist with transportation of deceased individuals from their place of passing to the funeral home
\- Clean, presentable, and polite when interacting with families and facilities
\- Respectful and trustworthy
\- Able to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in sensitive situations

Compensation per call: $75 \+ milage/ hourly for anything outside of the area.
