Foreman Fleet/Facilities/Burials

St Raymond’s Cemetery is one of the largest Catholic Parish cemeteries. Established in 1845, we service the needs of many families within our neighborhood and communities of the Bronx / Westchester Counties. We are seeking a resolute and experienced Foreman to oversee the operations of our Catholic Cemetery in The Bronx, with a primary focus on fleet and facilities management. The Foreman will play a vital role in maintaining the cemetery grounds, ensuring the efficient operation of equipment and vehicles, coordinate burials and grave preparation, and managing the facilities to provide a peaceful and dignified environment for visitors and families.

*Position Type:* Full Time \- Salaried – 40 hrs.

*Work Remotely* \- Essential Worker, only during a Pandemic shutdown

*Schedule:* Shift Mon\-Fri 7:15am – 4:15pm / Weekend Sat 8am \- 1pm

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

1\. **Fleet Management:**

· Have working knowledge of vehicle and heavy equipment (backhoes \& excavator) operations.

· Supervise and schedule maintenance and repair of all cemetery vehicles and heavy equipment.

· Ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in safe working condition.

· Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections via computer workorder system software.

· Coordinate the purchase and disposal of vehicles and equipment as needed.

· Oversee fueling, servicing, and cleanliness of vehicles.

2\. **Facilities Management:**

· Manage the upkeep and maintenance of cemetery buildings and structures.

· Oversee repairs, renovations, and construction projects when necessary.

· Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections via computer workorder system software.

· Ensure that facilities are clean, well\-maintained, and compliant with safety regulations.

· Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for facility\-related work.

· Lead and supervise a team of cemetery maintenance and facilities staff.

· Provide \& develop training, guidance, and support to team members.

· Foster a positive and productive work environment.

· Monitor work performance and implement improvements, as necessary.

4\. **Cemetery Grounds Maintenance:**

· Assist in the maintenance and beautification of cemetery grounds, including landscaping, gardening, and general upkeep.

· Ensure that the grounds are clean and well\-presented for visitors.

· Collaborate with the cemetery administration to plan and execute unique events or ceremonies.

· Assist in the daily interment process when needed.

5\. **Budget Management:**

· Assist in the development and management of the annual budget for fleet and facilities operations.

· Monitor expenses and work within budgetary constraints.

· Identify cost\-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards.

6\. **Compliance and Safety:**

· Ensure that all fleet and facilities operations comply with safety regulations and environmental guidelines.

· Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

· Maintain records and documentation related to safety and compliance.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in facilities management or a related field is a plus.

· Proven experience in fleet management and facilities maintenance, preferably in a cemetery or similar environment.

· Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.

· Excellent organizational and time\-management abilities.

· Proficient in using computer software (i.e., MS Excel, Word, Outlook) for record\-keeping and scheduling. Will train in proprietary software.

· Knowledge of Catholic traditions and practices preferred but not required.

· Valid driver's license and the ability to operate cemetery vehicles and equipment safely. CDL License preferred.

Working Conditions:

· This position may require working outdoors in various weather conditions.

· Management may require multiple weekend and holiday work, particularly during unique events or peak seasons.

· Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform tasks related to cemetery maintenance and facilities management.

Management requires testing of all new hires for Covid\-19 prior to engaging in the workplace environment. Management can schedule and conduct interviews virtually. When applicable, during work hours management requires protective face coverings always worn, routine sanitizing inside and outside of the workplace, limited gatherings of people while in the workplace, and always maintaining guidelines for social distance.

Additional Notes

Drug Testing will be required during the Onboarding process and on a random rotating scheduled after employment.

Pay: $65,000\.00 \- $80,000\.00 per year
