**Job Overview** **Caring, Respectful McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, MO. is** seeking an experienced **Funeral Assistant** **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** Assist with funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner. This can include overseeing processions and assisting with cemetery parking as needed, acting as a pallbearer, delivering and placing floral arrangements, picking up cremated remains from the crematory, and ensuring that no items are left behind and trash is picked up following a service. * Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, including removals and transfers. * The Funeral Assistant will provide support and assistance to funeral staff and clientele, performing a variety of tasks required to deliver respectful, professional, and thoughtful funeral services. * Assist with fleet maintenance. * Assist funeral staff with errands – this may include bank deposits, picking up death certificates, supplies, etc. * Maintain and oversee locations after funerals, in churches or the chapel. **REQUIREMENTS** * Mindful and focused transportation of decedent's remains to and from the funeral home. * One\-year of experience a plus but will train. * Ability to serve and maintain several families at each time. * Excellent communication skills and detail oriented. * Important level of empathy and compassion. * Able to lift 50\-75lbs. * Ability to work flexible on call hours including weekends and evenings according to schedule. * Clean driving record. * Knowledge of Funeral Business is a plus * Professional dress. * Part\-time \- Pay: $18\.00 per hour Work Location: In person
