Responsibilities

* Perform embalming procedures, including cosmetic application and dissection, to prepare deceased individuals for viewing while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and mortuary science principles
* Manage heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely when transporting and positioning bodies using company vehicles and equipment
* Provide bereavement support by offering compassionate guidance to grieving families throughout the funeral planning process
* Coordinate funeral events, including scheduling, logistics, and setup, ensuring seamless execution of services that meet client expectations
* Communicate clearly with clients to understand their needs, explain funeral options, and deliver personalized service with professionalism and sensitivity
* Operate funeral service technology systems for record keeping, arrangements, and documentation compliance
* Maintain strict sanitation standards within the mortuary environment to ensure safety and hygiene at all times

Experience

* Proven experience in funeral directing or embalming within a licensed mortuary setting
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, dissection techniques, and organ preservation methods
* Familiarity with cremation procedures and related regulatory requirements
* Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple arrangements efficiently while adhering to deadlines
* Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients during sensitive situations
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physical demands associated with mortuary work
* Experience using funeral service technology platforms for documentation and event planning

Nice-to-have Skills:

* Knowledge of cosmetology for deceased persons to ensure natural appearance restoration
* Experience in sales or client consultation within a funeral service context
* Skills in event planning for memorial services or remembrance events
* Understanding of organ donation processes and bereavement support strategies
