Funeral Director / Location Manager

**Seeking full time Funeral Service Practitioner / Funeral Director**

Redwood Memorial Chapel is a small, family\-owned funeral home and crematory serving Brookings and the surrounding Southern Oregon Coast. We are looking for a compassionate, dependable, and **Funeral Service Practitioner (FSP) / Funeral Director** to join our team and step into a leadership role at our Brookings location.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the personal side of funeral service, values a close\-knit work environment, and is looking to become an integral part of a family\-owned funeral home.

About the Position

We are looking for someone to take over the day\-to\-day responsibilities currently handled by our location manager as he transitions to another location within the company.

An important part of this position will be taking over supervision and mentorship of our current funeral service apprentices. The ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching, guiding, and supporting apprentices as they work toward their licenses.

**Responsibilities:**

* Meet with families to make funeral and cremation arrangements
* Guide families through the entire funeral service process with compassion and professionalism
* Coordinate services, visitations, cremations, and related arrangements
* Complete and oversee necessary funeral service documentation and paperwork
* Coordinate with cemeteries, clergy, churches, vendors, and other service providers
* Oversee and mentor current funeral service apprentices
* Assist with removals and on\-call responsibilities as needed
* Represent Redwood Memorial Chapel professionally within the local community

What We're Looking For

**Required:**

* An **active Oregon Funeral Service Practitioner (FSP) license**, OR an active funeral service/director license from another state in good standing with the ability to transfer/obtain Oregon licensure
* Experience in funeral directing and working directly with families
* Ability and willingness to supervise and mentor funeral service apprentices
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Professional, compassionate, and respectful demeanor
* Ability to work independently while being part of a small team
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
* Willingness to participate in an on\-call/rotating schedule

**We are specifically seeking a single\-license funeral service professional (FSP/funeral director). An embalming license is not required.** We have several experienced embalmers already on staff.
