Funeral Director

**Funeral Home in Bennington, VT area** is seeking an experienced **Funeral Director/Embalmer**.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:**

* Arrange and conduct funeral and memorial ceremonies in a professional, organized, and caring manner
* Care for the deceased respectfully while performing a variety of tasks, which include removals and transfers; embalming; dressing; cosmetizing; and casketing. Strong embalming skills required.
* Arrange for and oversee interment or cremation of human remains
* Prepare necessary legal paperwork, including contracts, authorizations, death certificates and transit permits
* Assist families wishing to prearrange or prepay funeral arrangements
* Good understanding of computers and standard software including, MS Word, MS Excel, and Electronic Death Registry System
* Ability to serve and maintain several families in a given time period
* Excellent communication skills
* Detail oriented
* High level of empathy and compassion
* Ability to work weekends and evenings according to schedule
* Clean driving record
