Funeral Home After Hours Removal Technician

**Legacy Removal Technician Job Description** **General Description:** Responsible for the removal, care, and transportation of deceased after hours as an on call position. Reliably drives and maintains a variety of company vehicles. This position is on call from the hours of 5 pm \- 8 am Monday \- Friday and weekends from Friday 5 pm \- Monday 8 am. This position will be on a rotating schedule of one full week on every other week and will be **paid from $75 per removal completed.** **Job Responsibilities:** * Responds for the removal of decedents at place of death, medical examiner office, or other location. * Cooperates with first responders, medical examiners, hospital, or nursing home staff to accommodate their processes and procedures. * Verifies proper identification of deceased, and collection of any paperwork and personal effect. * For in\-home removals, displays courteous and professional interactions with bereaved families, and transports decedent to the funeral homes or appropriate facility. * Vehicle upkeep includes fueling and stocking personal protective equipment and removal supplies. * Transportation of deceased to appropriate facilities (i.e., funeral home, airport, or other location). **Minimum Requirements:** Education – High school Diploma or Equivalent Licensing – Valid Alaska state driver’s license with copy of driving record **Knowledge Kills and Abilities:** * Strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills. * Competently driving safely in all Alaskan weather conditions in all seasons. * Displays compassion and integrity. * Self\-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. **Physical Requirements:** * Able bodied * Proficient lifting 100 lbs frequently, pushing or pulling up to 350 lbs occasionally * You may be exposed to traumatic scenes and unpleasant odors Job Type: Part\-time Pay: From $75\.00 per day Work Location: In person
