Funeral Home Assistant

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Funeral Home Assistant to join our team in providing respectful, supportive, and seamless funeral services. In this vital role, you will assist with a variety of tasks that ensure the dignity of funeral ceremonies and support grieving families during their difficult times. **Responsibilities**

* Assist with funeral home operations, including setting up and preparing chapels and visitation areas for services.
* Support families by providing compassionate client communication, guiding them through arrangements, and addressing their needs with sensitivity.
* Handle heavy lifting and manual handling of caskets, floral arrangements, and other equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
* Coordinate event logistics such as scheduling services, managing records, and ensuring all necessary materials are prepared for funerals.
* Drive funeral vehicles as needed for transfers or transportation of remains, maintaining safe driving practices at all times.
* Provide bereavement support to families before, during, and after services to help ease their emotional burden.
* Maintain accurate records management of all documentation related to funeral arrangements and client interactions.
* Participate in on\-call coverage to support after\-hours needs and emergency response situations.

**Qualifications**

* Previous experience in funeral \& mortuary services or event coordination is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate approach when working with grieving families.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices consistently.
* Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for vehicle operation responsibilities.
* Administrative experience including records management and client communication is advantageous.
* Willingness to work flexible hours including on\-call shifts to accommodate funeral schedules.

Pay: $20\.00 \- $24\.00 per hour
