Funeral Home Assistant Manager

**Job Overview**

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Funeral Home Assistant Manager to join our compassionate team. This vital role combines leadership, operational management, and hands\-on support to ensure that every funeral service is conducted with dignity, professionalism, and heartfelt care. As a Funeral Home Assistant Manager, you will oversee daily operations, coordinate funeral arrangements, and support families through one of life's most sensitive moments. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will help create meaningful experiences for clients while maintaining the highest standards of mortuary science and service excellence.

**Duties**

* Assist in managing funeral home operations, ensuring smooth coordination of services from initial client contact to post\-service follow\-up
* Support funeral directors in planning and executing funeral events, including logistics, transportation, and setup
* Handle heavy lifting and manual handling tasks involved in preparing caskets, equipment, and supplies with safety and professionalism
* Work closely with the location manager to insure all procedures are followed and rules and regulations are enforced
* Maintain proper sanitation protocols to uphold health regulations and preserve the deceased’s dignity
* Provide bereavement support by offering compassionate communication and guidance to grieving families throughout the process
* Operate company vehicles safely for transportation of remains or equipment as needed
* Maintain detailed records using funeral service technology systems, including documentation of procedures, client interactions, and inventory management
* Ensure compliance with mortuary science principles, anatomy knowledge, physiology understanding, and cremation procedures while adhering to safety standards

**Skills**

* Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with clients during difficult times
* Knowledge of mortuary science principles, anatomy, physiology, dissection techniques, and cremation processes
* Experience in funeral directing, event planning, and organizing funeral services efficiently
* Proficiency in funeral service technology for record\-keeping and administrative tasks
* Ability to perform embalming and cosmetic application for deceased persons with attention to detail
* Physical strength for heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while maintaining safety protocols
* Organizational skills to coordinate multiple aspects of funeral services seamlessly
* Familiarity with sanitation standards, dissection procedures, organ donation processes (if applicable), and overall mortuary practices
* Sales skills for guiding families through available services and products while providing compassionate support

Pay: $23\.50 \- $26\.50 per hour
