Funeral Home Front Desk Receptionist

**Haven of Rest Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Gig Harbor** is currently hiring a Front Desk Receptionist. Office Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday \- Friday. Competitive compensation based on experience and credentials. The office administration is responsible for: * Telephone customer service and reception * Greeting individuals in person * Understanding schedules and calendar * Facilitating communication between families and our licensed Funeral Directors * Creating \& maintaining data entry logs * Processing payments in person and over the phone * Making coffee, unlocking door at start of day, and locking doors at end of day. An ideal candidate for this role: * Professional presence and demeanor * Dependable, trustworthy, consistent, reliable, ensuring that promises are kept and tasks are completed to the best of your ability * Proficiency in punctuation, spelling, and grammar * Empathetic; comfortable navigating grief work with families * Self\-starter, ability to set and complete tasks independently * Comfortable working alone and in partnership * Knowledge of basic office software – outlook, word, excel, ect. * Willingness to learn * Experience working with a multi\-line phone system * Previous customer service related work, preferably including fielding over the phone inquiries Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience in social work, elder care, or Funeral/Cemetery environment Pay: $18\.00 \- $24\.00 per hour Expected hours: 40\.0 per week Benefits: * Employee discount * Professional development assistance Experience: * administrative (Legal, Medical, etc.): 2 years (Required) Language: * any additional languages (Preferred) Work Location: In person
