Funeral Service Assistant

**Role Overview:**
The Funeral Services Assistant provides clerical and operational support for funeral services, ensuring respectful preparation and assistance during memorial and funeral events.


**Key Responsibilities**

* Set up floral arrangements, caskets, urns, photos, and mementos for services.
* Prepare documents related to services, cremations, and maintenance.
* Assist with respectful handling of remains, including dressing, lifting, and operating crematory equipment as permitted.
* Perform office duties such as answering phones, operating office equipment, and running errands.
* Serve as an usher, park cars, operate funeral home vehicles, and provide transportation for families.
* Ensure refreshments are available and assist with visitation, memorial, and funeral service setups.
* Greet families, accommodate their needs during services, and support funeral activities.
* Maintain cleanliness of funeral home vehicles and facilities as needed.

**Qualifications & Skills**

* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous customer service or sales experience preferred.
* Proficiency with MS Office and databases preferred; willingness to learn required.
* Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.
* High compassion, integrity, strong communication skills, and professionalism.
* Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

**Additional Details:**
Must be flexible to work weekdays and some weekends. Compensation is $20/hr. Part-time roles may include 401(k) benefits.
