Job Description
A Funeral Services Support Staff member is a part\-time non\-exempt level employee who reports directly to the Lead Funeral Director. This position works cooperatively with the full time Funeral Service Staff and other support staff to help coordinate details related to funeral and disposition services.
Receptionist Duties: Must be comfortable working with grieving families; must be punctual and willing to learn all aspects of the profession to best understand customer service practices; maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with office procedures; responds to visitor, telephone, and email inquiries; Maintains telecommunication system for house phone and console; professionally handles high volume of incoming calls; assists funeral staff coordinate handling services at chapels, churches; serves visitors by greeting, welcoming and directing them appropriately;
Administrative Duties may include but are not limited to: Provides administrative support to the customer service department through activities such as light filing, mailing, and record keeping; schedules appointments and assists in maintaining office calendar; approving and submitting disposition permits to local boards of health; completing decedent records and organizes files; maintains supplies of informational materials for the office; coordinating clergy for funeral services; all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
