This energetic position involves performing a variety of outdoor tasks to ensure the landscape remains pristine, respectful, and welcoming for visitors and loved ones alike. You will be actively engaged in groundskeeping, landscaping, and general maintenance activities that uphold the high standards of our cemetery environment. If you enjoy working outdoors, taking pride in your work, and contributing to a peaceful resting place, this is the perfect opportunity for you! **Responsibilities** * Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and maintaining garden beds to create a serene environment. * Operate gas powered tools, hand tools and power tools safely for tasks including digging, edging, pruning, and installing landscape features. * Perform routine lawn care duties like watering, fertilizing, aerating, and weed control to keep grounds healthy and attractive. * Conduct general maintenance activities including cleaning pathways, repairing fences or benches, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. * Help with cemetery operations such as marking gravesites accurately and assisting with burials or memorial installations when needed. * Maintain cleanliness of work areas by removing debris, trash, and ensuring tools are stored properly after use. * Follow safety protocols diligently while handling equipment and performing outdoor tasks to prevent accidents or injuries. * ● Load materials onto trucks, setup tents, lowering devices.● Offload trucks correctly and in a timely manner.● Clean up before and after funerals, clean off memorials, pay attention to detail.● Use Backpack Blower, push mower, Trimmers, Weedwhackers...● Pickup fallen branches, trash.● General Maintenance● Assist when needed when asked● make sure the park is cut, trimmed, leaves are blown off● have the bronze memorials installed in a timely manner● have the Granite Benches installed in a timely manner● have a gravesite looking nice and respectable after a funeral● place temporary markers in a timely manner● place temporary markers in a timely manner● Keep Vehicles gased and ready to use● In the case of a snow event salt and clear the roads \& pathways● have shrubs trimmed and looking good, dead shrubs are to be removed and replaced ● Snow removal during snow events **Requirements** * Prior experience or familiarity with landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping is required; training will be provided. * Ability to operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, as well as power tools like trimmers or blowers safely and effectively. * Knowledge of horticulture principles or experience with lawn care techniques is a plus. * Physical stamina to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions; ability to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects safely. lifting up to 100 lbs. * Strong attention to detail and a respectful attitude towards cemetery grounds and visitors. * Reliable work ethic with good communication skills; ability to follow instructions clearly is a must.
