Hospice Administrative Support Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential part of our care team, providing non\-clinical operational assistance that helps our office run smoothly. In this rewarding, unpaid position, you will support our administrative staff with general office tasks, welcoming visitors, and assembling patient materials, directly helping our clinical team focus on delivering compassionate care to patients and families.

**Responsibilities**

* Assist office staff with routine administrative tasks, including scanning, filing, shredding, and sorting mail.
* Assemble patient admission folders, caregiver educational packets, and bereavement material kits.
* Provide warm customer service by greeting office visitors, answering incoming calls, and directing inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
* Support internal staff communication by delivering messages and assisting with general office organization.
* Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient, family, and company information in full compliance with HIPAA regulations.

**Requirements**

* Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to support hospice care operations.
* Strong organizational skills and basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, email).
* Professional telephone etiquette and clear communication skills.
* Ability to maintain high accuracy and strict confidentiality regarding sensitive office information.
* Must successfully complete Solace Hospice background checks, volunteer orientation, and mandatory HIPAA privacy training prior to starting.

Pay: $0\.01 per hour

Expected hours: 2\.0 – 4\.0 per week
