Job Description
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will provide spiritual support, emotional care, and bereavement services to patients, families, and caregivers navigating the challenges of end\-of\-life care. Your leadership will foster a comforting environment, guiding individuals through grief and loss with empathy, professionalism, and faith\-based counseling. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing life\-limiting illnesses and their loved ones, promoting healing and hope during difficult times.
**Responsibilities**
* Deliver spiritual care and Christian counseling tailored to the diverse needs of patients and families within hospice settings
* Lead bereavement support programs, including individual counseling, group sessions, and community outreach events
* Facilitate educational presentations on topics related to grief, loss, hospice care, and spiritual well\-being for staff, volunteers, and community groups
* Provide crisis intervention and conflict management to address emotional or spiritual crises with sensitivity and professionalism
* Mentor and train volunteers and staff in effective communication skills, crisis management techniques, and cultural competence
* Develop and implement comprehensive bereavement plans that include follow\-up support for grieving families
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient\-centered care that respects individual faiths, beliefs, and preferences
**Requirements**
* Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Pastoral Care, Counseling, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
* Certification as a chaplain or pastoral counselor is highly desirable
* Proven experience in hospice care or end\-of\-life spiritual support
* Strong skills in public speaking, presentation delivery, and teaching to engage diverse audiences effectively
* Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—necessary for compassionate counseling and documentation
* Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience mentoring staff or volunteers in sensitive settings
* Ability to manage crises with calmness and clarity while providing effective crisis intervention strategies
* Knowledge of bereavement support practices, Christian counseling principles, and conflict management techniques
