Hospice Chaplain and Bereavement Coordinator

**Overview**

**Duties**

* Provide spiritual guidance, pastoral counseling, and religious support to patients facing terminal illness, respecting diverse faith backgrounds and cultural sensitivities.
* Lead regular worship services, prayer sessions, and religious rites tailored to patient needs and family preferences.
* Develop and implement comprehensive bereavement programs, including individual counseling sessions, support groups, and memorial events to assist families through grief.
* Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary hospice teams to integrate spiritual care into overall patient treatment plans.
* Offer crisis intervention and conflict management to address emotional distress or family conflicts arising during end-of-life care.
* Conduct educational presentations on religious studies, spiritual guidance, and pastoral theology for staff training or community outreach events.
* Mentor and train volunteers or new staff in spiritual leadership, crisis management, and effective communication skills to enhance holistic care delivery.

**Experience**

* Proven experience working as a clergyperson or in religious leadership within a nonprofit faith-based organization.
* Demonstrated expertise in hospice care, terminal illness counseling, and bereavement support with strong understanding of Christian counseling principles.
* Skilled in teaching religious studies, biblical theology, pastoral theology, and working with culturally diverse communities.
* Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex spiritual concepts clearly to varied audiences.
* Strong background in event planning for memorial services or community outreach initiatives related to grief support.
* Experience in crisis intervention, conflict management, crisis management, and mentoring within healthcare or community settings.
* Exceptional writing skills for documentation of spiritual assessments, bereavement follow-ups, and program development.

Pay: $33.69 - $35.00 per hour
