Hospice Volunteer

#### **Position Summary:** Hospice volunteers play a vital role in providing comfort, support, and companionship to patients and families during end\-of\-life care. Volunteers offer their time and presence to enhance the quality of life for patients and support the hospice care team. #### **Key Responsibilities:** * Provide companionship through friendly visits, reading, conversation, or playing music. * Offer caregiver relief through respite visits. * Participate in bereavement support by making calls or writing letters. * Help with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, or mailings. * Document visit notes and time logs accurately and timely. * #### **Qualifications:** + Compassionate, patient, and dependable. + Excellent listening and communication skills. + Must be at least 18 years old. + Able to pass background check and health screening (TB test, etc.). + Completion of required hospice volunteer training.#### **Time Commitment:** Flexible; generally 1–4 hours per week depending on volunteer availability and patient needs. #### **Benefits:** + Meaningful, rewarding service to individuals and families. + Training and ongoing support. + Opportunity to gain experience in healthcare and hospice environments.
