Housekeeping Technician

**Housekeeping / Custodial Technician / Support Staff** **Position Summary** The Housekeeping Technician ensures the funeral home remains clean, orderly, and presentable at all times. This role supports the comfort of families and maintains the professional appearance of the facility. **Key Responsibilities** * Clean and sanitize public areas, restrooms, arrangement rooms, and viewing spaces daily * Vacuum, mop, dust, and polish surfaces throughout the building * Maintain restroom supplies and cleanliness * Empty trash and replace liners in all areas * Clean interior windows, mirrors, and glass doors * Assist with odor control and environmental freshness * Perform weekly and monthly deep‑cleaning tasks as scheduled * Maintain cleaning logs and report maintenance issues promptly * Prepare viewing rooms, chapels, and public spaces before services * Reset rooms between visitations and events * Assist with transporting decedents using removal vehicles * Clean and disinfect vehicles daily (interior and exterior as needed) * Provide general support during funerals, including ushering, setup, and parking cars * Maintain cleanliness of equipment and service areas * Assist with weekly and monthly facility cleaning tasks * Uphold confidentiality and professionalism at all times * Other duties as specified by the Funeral Director or Management Team **Qualifications** * Valid driver’s license with clean driving record * Strong attention to detail * Prior custodial or housekeeping experience preferred * Ability to work discreetly and respectfully in sensitive environments * Ability to lift 25–40 lbs and stand for extended periods * Ability to lift 75\+ lbs with assistance * Professional demeanor and strong communication skills * Comfort working in emotionally sensitive environments It is the expectation of staff on funeral days to be in professional dress attire.
