About the Position

Masonic Memorial Park is looking for a dependable, hardworking **Lead Groundskeeper** to join our cemetery grounds team.

The Lead Groundskeeper is a hands-on working leader who takes pride in maintaining beautiful, respectful, and well-kept cemetery grounds. This position works alongside the grounds team while helping organize daily work, keep projects moving, and make sure assigned work is completed properly and on time.

We are looking for someone who takes initiative, communicates well, pays attention to detail, and understands that maintaining a cemetery requires both excellent groundskeeping and respect for the families and individuals we serve.

Responsibilities

* Help lead and coordinate the daily work of the grounds crew.
* Assist with assigning and prioritizing daily grounds tasks.
* Maintain lawns, landscaping, trees, shrubs, flower beds, and other cemetery grounds.
* Mow, trim, edge, weed, blow, rake, and perform general grounds maintenance.
* Assist with cemetery burials, services, and related grounds preparation as needed.
* Maintain and care for cemetery equipment, tools, vehicles, and machinery.
* Identify equipment or grounds issues and communicate them to management.
* Assist with seasonal grounds projects, landscaping improvements, and cemetery beautification.
* Help ensure work areas, roads, pathways, and common areas remain clean, safe, and presentable.
* Assist with irrigation and watering duties.
* Help maintain headstones, monuments, structures, and other cemetery features as appropriate.
* Follow established maintenance schedules and help ensure scheduled work is completed.
* Communicate with the office and management regarding completed work, upcoming needs, and concerns.
* Work respectfully around families, funeral homes, visitors, and cemetery services.
* Maintain a professional and respectful attitude at all times.
* Perform other grounds-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, maintenance, or related experience preferred.
* Previous leadership or lead-worker experience preferred.
* Working knowledge and experience operating tractors, backhoes, and other grounds or heavy equipment.
* Ability to safely operate and maintain common landscaping equipment.
* Valid driver's license preferred/required as applicable.
* Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, stand, walk, and perform physical outdoor work for extended periods.
