Licensed Embalmer

**Position Summary** Thomas Marcom Funeral Home is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and detail\-oriented Licensed Embalmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical embalming abilities, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing dignified and professional care to the families we serve. This position is responsible for all aspects of decedent preparation, including embalming, restoration, dressing, cosmetology, and preparation for visitation, funeral services, cremation, and transportation. The successful candidate will work closely with funeral directors and support staff to ensure exceptional service and presentation standards. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** **Embalming \& Preparation** · Perform embalming procedures in accordance with California regulations and industry best practices. · Complete restorative art, reconstruction, dressing, casketing, and cosmetology services as needed. · Prepare decedents for visitation, funeral services, burial, cremation, and transportation. · Maintain accurate embalming reports, preparation records, and identification documentation. · Ensure compliance with all OSHA, health, safety, and sanitation requirements. · Maintain preparation room cleanliness, equipment, and inventory. **Funeral Home Operations** · Assist with removals and transfers as needed. · Support funeral directors and staff with service\-related activities. · Mentor and assist Apprentice Embalmers when appropriate. · Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. · Ensure all work is performed with dignity, respect, and attention to detail. **Qualifications** **Required** · Current California Embalmer License in good standing. · Graduation from an accredited Mortuary Science Program. · Previous embalming and preparation room experience. · Knowledge of restorative art and modern embalming techniques. · Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. · Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. **Preferred** · Funeral Director License. · Experience in a high\-volume preparation facility. · Bilingual English/Spanish. · Experience mentoring Apprentice Embalmers. · Familiarity with cremation procedures and regulations. **Physical Requirements** · Ability to lift, move, and transfer decedents using proper equipment and assistance. · Ability to stand, bend, push, pull, and walk for extended periods. · Ability to work in a preparation room environment with exposure to chemicals and biohazard materials. · Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). **Benefits** · Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance · Company\-Paid Life Insurance · 401(k) Plan · Paid Time Off · Paid Holidays · Continuing Education Opportunities · License Renewal Assistance · Career Growth and Advancement Opportunities **Why Join Thomas Marcom Funeral Home?** Thomas Marcom Funeral Home has proudly served Selma and surrounding communities for generations.
