Mortuary Removal Driver

**What we do:**

L.A.C. Mortuary Accommodations provides the initial face-to-face interaction when someone contacts a mortuary for their immediate funeral needs. We transport their loved one to the desired mortuary.

**Job Description:**

As a mortuary first call driver, you will be responsible for the transportation of human remains from various hospitals, convalescent centers, and residential homes. Good communication skills are required as you will have direct contact with family members and funeral personnel. As a team, you will be required to handle and maneuver human remains in a compassionate and dignified manner. (training is provided)

Driver responsibilities include arranging regular cleaning and maintenance services for the vehicle, planning each route based on road and traffic conditions. To be considered for this role, you should have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. Note that you don’t need to have a car; we provide drivers with our vehicles.

**Office located in Torrance, CA, 90501**

This is a 40-hour full time position.

We're looking for a reliable individual to join our team for the Mid shift, 3 PM-11 pm (with overtime available).

Schedule will be discussed at time of interview.

* 8 hour shifts with paid overtime
* 5 day work week
* Including some weekends and holidays

We provide on-the-job training so that all of our employees feel confident on the road for the families we serve.

**Requirements:**

* **Advise families in a compassionate and professional manner the next steps of the funeral process. (Training provided)**
* **Have a valid driver's license within the state of employment (a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required)**
* **Able to drive for long periods of time with potential long-distance removals**
* **Be able to operate and navigate a minivan. (You do not need to provide your own vehicle)**
* **Consent to a drug test**
* **Be able to lift and maneuver as a team a range of 1-250+ lbs during an 8 to 10-hour work shift**
* **Demonstrate strong communication skills**
* **Excellent attention to detail with the skill set to problem-solve independently**
* **Must maintain a professional appearance**
* **Background checks will be conducted**

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
