Mortuary Transporter
Job Description
**Overview**
Join our compassionate team as a Mortuary Transporter, where your role is vital in providing respectful and dignified transportation of deceased individuals. You will operate specialized vehicles to transfer bodies between funeral homes, and hospitals ensuring adherence to all safety and regulatory standards.
**Duties**
* Safely operate mortuary transport vans, following all traffic laws and safety protocols
* Transport deceased individuals between funeral homes, hospitals, and morgues with utmost respect and sensitivity
* Handle care with the loading and unloading of bodies using proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety
* Maintain accurate documentation for each transfer, including pickup and delivery logs and vehicle maintenance records
* Communicate effectively with funeral directors, medical staff, and team members to coordinate transportation schedules
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure cleanliness, proper functioning, and compliance with state transportation regulations
* Follow all local, state, and federal transportation laws
**Requirements**
* Clean background check/ No criminal charges
* Valid New Mexico driver’s license with a clean driving record
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling of bodies or equipment safely and respectfully
* Knowledge of traffic regulations and state transportation laws
* Strong communication skills for client interaction and team coordination
* Demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and discretion
* Ability to maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform basic maintenance checks regularly
* Ability to handle long drives with unpredictable hours
* Be okay with being On-Call and changing hours

Pay: $16.00 per hour
