On-Call Funeral Assistant (Nights)

**Job Overview** This role is responsible for the respectful transfer of deceased individuals from hospitals, residences, nursing homes, and other locations to our funeral home. Personnel must demonstrate compassion, discretion, emotional maturity, strong communication skills, and strict adherence to legal and safety protocols. This role requires physical stamina, strong situational awareness, reliability, discretion and the ability to work independently during overnight hours **Schedule** * Night on\-call rotation (Schedule TBD) * Hours: On\-Call 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. with opportunity for daytime work **Responsibilities** * Respond to removal request for immediate dispatch during overnight hours. * Safely and respectfully transfer deceased individuals using proper equipment and protocols. * Interact professionally with grieving families, hospital staff, hospice workers, and law enforcement. * Maintain cleanliness and readiness of company vehicles and equipment. * Follow all health, safety, and legal compliance standards. * Participate in on\-call rotation schedule. **Qualifications** * Valid driver’s license with clean driving record. * Ability to pass background check and drug screening. * Ability to regularly climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 75 pounds, and may be required to lift up to 100 pounds. * Requires strong situational awareness, reliability, and discretion. * Ability to work independently during overnight hours. * Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining the highest level of professionalism and integrity.
