Parks/Cemetery Maintenance

**Description** --------------- This position performs routine grounds maintenance and labor in support of park facilities and/or cemetery operations. Assists with mowing, trimming, landscaping, and general upkeep of public spaces to ensure a safe, clean, and well\-maintained environment. Work is performed under supervision from the Parks or Cemetery Foreman. Limited to working less than 1,000 hours per year. **Examples of Duties** ---------------------- * Mows, trims, edges, and maintains turf areas using hand and power equipment * Assists with planting, watering, weeding, and general landscaping duties * Maintains cleanliness of parks, trails, shelters, and/or cemetery grounds * Picks up litter, empties trash receptacles, and performs general grounds cleanup * Assists with grave preparation, marker placement, and cemetery upkeep (if assigned) * Performs minor maintenance on facilities, equipment, and amenities * Operates light equipment such as push mowers, string trimmers, and utility vehicles * Follows safety procedures and reports hazards or equipment issues * Provides courteous interaction with the public as needed * Performs other duties as assigned **Typical Qualifications** -------------------------- **Education, Certification and Experience:** * Previous grounds maintenance or outdoor labor experience preferred, but not required.Valid driver's license required. **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*** Ability to perform manual labor in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions * Basic knowledge of grounds maintenance practices and equipment * Ability to safely operate hand and power tools * Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team * Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance **Supplemental Information** ---------------------------- **Environment:** Work is performed primarily outdoors with exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and allergens. Position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion.
