Patient Transport Driver
Job Description
**Overview**
A Simple Service Burial and Cremation of Lancaster, SC is seeking to add additional Transport Drivers for after hours and weekends. In this important role, you will be responsible for safely transporting decedents from the place of death (residence, coroner's office, nursing homes, etc.) back to funeral home, care center, or crematory. Your expertise and professionalism will help us deliver exceptional service and maintain our reputation for reliability. Due to the nature of the business, transport agents work a set, on\-call schedule, and are ready to respond in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
**Responsibilities**
* Ensure adherence to all traffic laws, state transportation regulations, and company policies during every journey.
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
* Communicate effectively with client families and funeral director, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries professionally.
* Load and unload decedent in our equipped mini\-vans with proper manual handling techniques to prevent injury and ensure secure transport.
* Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to follow assigned routes while adjusting for traffic or road conditions.
**Skills**
* Proven experience as a delivery driver, first responder, shuttle driver, or chauffeur with a strong safety record.
* Skilled in GPS navigation systems and local driving routes to optimize efficiency.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks comfortably when loading or unloading mortuary stretcher/cot/cremation containers.
* Knowledge of passenger vehicle operation and client communication.
* Familiarity with vehicle maintenance routines and basic troubleshooting skills.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, passengers, and team members effectively.
* Experience in medical transportation or school bus driving is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $90\.00 \- $300\.00 per week
