Pet Transfer Lead

**Description** The Pet Transfer Specialist is responsible for providing professional and compassionate services to support the Pet Services Department as well as Holloway Funeral Home Salisbury \& Pocomoke locations and Eastern Shore Cremation \& Funeral Services. Duties will include the caring and sensitive transport of deceased pets from a variety of locations, as well as receiving pets at the funeral home during all hours. Additional duties include occasional transporting of decedents, inner office mail, and the care and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. This position is also responsible for after hours and weekend on call (4:30 pm to 8:30 am M\-Th, 4:30 pm Friday until 8:30 am Monday) on a rotational basis. This position performs duties independently with minimal direction from a supervisor or designated staff member. **JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** * Transfer pets into the care of the funeral home from veterinary partners * Providing outstanding customer service to our families, vet clinics and vendors * Distribution of inner office mail between all business locations * Transport decedents between business locations * Picking Up \& Delivery of Death Certificates from DE \& VA Health Departments * Assuring documentation is accurate and complete * Maintaining positive control of deceased during the transfer process * Demonstrating safety and courtesy, while driving company vehicles * Able to handle and work with deceased * Effectively manage multiple tasks and fluctuating demands * Able to work a flexible schedule * Receive pets into our care afterhours on an on\-call basis * Follow set processes, schedules and directions for service needs both written and oral * Possession of a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s insurance provider * Accommodate extensive lifting * Work efficiently, independently and manage time well * Strong communication skills, both spoken and written * All other duties as assigned. **MINIMUM Requirements** **Education \& Experience** * High school diploma or GED * Previous transportation and customer service experience preferred. **Certification/Licenses** * Current state\-issued driver’s license and insurability by company auto insurance policy. **Working Conditions** * Weekday \& Weekend availability required. * Physical ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and slide up to 125 lbs. * Safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment required in certain situations. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** * Analyze situations and take appropriate actions on changing conditions and situations * Able to multi\-task and establish priorities * Able to communicate effectively and professionally * Interact well with families, vet clinics and fellow employees * High level of compassion and integrity * Detail oriented **Position Type:** Part time **COMMPENSATION \& BENEFITS:** · 401k eligibility with 3% contribution after 1000\+ hours in one year and 1 year tenure · Target Salary: $20,000\-$32,000 dollars a year · Employee Discount Program · Uniform/Dress Reimbursement · Flexible Hours · Limited PTO accrual Job Type: Part\-time Pay: $20,000\.00 \- $32,000\.00 per year Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching Work Days: * Holidays * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Work Location: In person
