**Removal Technician (On‑Call, Per‑Call Pay)** **Position:** Removal Technician **Schedule:** On‑Call (must be available to answer calls immediately) **Compensation:** Paid per call/removal **Industry:** Funeral Home \& Mortuary Transport Services **Overview** We are seeking a dependable, respectful, and professional Removal Technician to assist funeral homes with the dignified transfer of decedents from homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, and other locations. This role is on‑call and requires someone who can respond promptly when contacted. **Key Responsibilities** * Respond immediately when called for a removal assignment * Safely and respectfully transfer decedents from the place of death to the designated funeral home or facility * Maintain a calm, compassionate, and professional presence with families, medical staff, and law enforcement * Complete all required paperwork or digital documentation accurately * Handle stretchers, cots, body bags, and related equipment with care * Maintain cleanliness and readiness of transport vehicle and equipment * Follow all OSHA, state, and company safety guidelines * Protect the privacy and dignity of the deceased and their families at all times **Requirements** * Must answer the phone when called and be able to respond promptly * Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record * Ability to lift, push, and pull **100's of lbs** * Professional appearance and demeanor * Strong communication skills * Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed * Reliable transportation to reach the funeral home or pickup location quickly * Must be comfortable working in sensitive and emotional environments **Compensation** * Paid **per call/removal** * Additional compensation may be available for long‑distance transports or special circumstances **Ideal Candidate** Someone who is dependable, emotionally mature, physically capable, and committed to treating every family and every decedent with dignity and respect Pay: $50\.00 \- $200\.00 per day Benefits: * Company car * Fuel card * Paid training * Safety equipment provided Work Location: In person
