Department 190 \- Cemetery Location Public Works \- Stormwater/Vegetation Position Type Seasonal Salary Open Date 03/01/2026 Description **Job Summary** --------------- Position: Cemetery Sexton (Seasonal; Non\-Exempt) Department: Public Works – Stormwater / Vegetation (Cemetery) Job Summary: Assist in the daily Cemetery operations and functions relating to care and maintenance of cemetery. This includes but is not limited to burial site preparations mowing weedeating debris pick\-up. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Stormwater/Vegetation Supervisor and does not have supervisory responsibilities. **Salary; Benefits; and Work Schedule** --------------------------------------- **Salary:** $15\.52 per hour Position does not include benefits **Schedule:** Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. **Essential Functions** ----------------------- Perform required labor involved in: * Maintain the cemetery to a neat; uniform; and professional landscape standard. * Locate and mark grave sites. * Prepare and excavate burial plots and complete post\-burial backfilling. * Drainage maintenance. * Vegetation control. * Small construction projects. **Minimum Qualifications and Experience** ----------------------------------------- * Valid OK driver license with good driving record **Working Environment and Physical Requirements:** -------------------------------------------------- Work will be performed mostly outdoors in all types of weather conditions; including extreme temperatures; hot and cold; and wet and/or humid conditions. The work environment may include exposure to drafts; noise; dust; and grease.
