Better Place Forests is a nonprofit organization dedicated to permanently protecting forest land while guiding meaningful end\-of\-life experiences deeply rooted in nature.
We are hiring **Seasonal Forest Hosts** to support guest experiences, memorial facilitation, and forest stewardship at our conservation memorial forest.
This role blends hospitality, outdoor work, grief\-informed support, and hands\-on forest care. It’s ideal for someone who thrives outdoors, communicates with warmth and confidence, and takes pride in both operational excellence and compassionate service.
**Duties**
* Welcome and guide guests during Forest Visits and Memorial Tree tours
* Support in\-forest sales conversations and answer guest questions
* Prepare for and facilitate Forest Memorials with professionalism and care
* Guide ash placements and support meaningful memorial moments
* Install Memorial Markers and complete required documentation
* Maintain accurate visit notes and case updates using internal systems
* Support trail maintenance, forest care, and visitor area upkeep
* Monitor onsite safety and report hazards
* Participate in daily team huddles and support community engagement initiatives
This role requires balancing empathy, professionalism, physical stamina, and attention to detail in a dynamic outdoor setting.
**Experience**
* Experience in customer\-facing roles delivering exceptional service
* Strong communication skills and comfort speaking to groups
* Emotional maturity and comfort supporting individuals during sensitive end\-of\-life moments
* Ability to work independently in remote outdoor environments
* Adaptability and strong follow\-through
* Comfort working outdoors in varying weather and hiking uneven terrain
* Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
* Valid driver’s license (ROV training provided)
* Comfortable learning digital tools and documentation systems
Experience in conservation, hospitality, end\-of\-life services, or mission\-driven organizations is a plus.
**Additional Requirements**
* 8\-24 hours per week based on operational needs
* Weekend availability required
* Onsite in Falls Village, CT
* Comfortable working with cremated remains
